The colour of nonsense – review

Silly, bizarre and enjoyable. A lovely play beatify written and preformed by a brilliant cast of 3. The use of projectors were particularly imaginative and everywhere you looked something strange was happening but that’s what made it so amazing. In the setting of the Tobacco Factory, the close seating makes you feel like you’re in the action.  A fantasy world was very realistic as the play told the story of an invisible art work being stolen. But this play wasn’t arty or conceptual it was just really good theatre and I found surprisingly easy to understand. Great plot, great play. Wonderfully weird. 8/10

The Bristol Balloon Fiesta 2009 – Review

Thousands of people attend the Bristol Balloon Fiesta every year but this year was different with more stalls and attractions, a better layout and glorious sunshine - this was without doubt the best Balloon fiesta ever! Events such as the red arrows were a real highlight; they stunned and wowed audiences with there amazing precision and shapes as they flew through the air at speed. Another special event was the nightglow; watching hot air balloons glow like lanterns in time to music is spectacular but the real highlight for me was watching the balloons take off. It was an amazing sight as a hundred hot air balloons lifted into the evening sky, it is a sight most will not see in a lifetime but here in Bristol we are lucky enough to watch every year – it was majestic and beautiful. Fairground rides and stalls filled the rest of Ashton Court and everything ran smoothly. The only negative was the toilet facilities but that still couldn’t bring down the brilliance of the fiesta. Absolutely amazing 10/10

Twelfth Night Review

The heart of Queens square was a superb setting for a superb show. The Lord chamberlains Men really captured the spirit of Shakespeare with their all male, seven man cast and amazing costumes. A simple set and fun music numbers only enhanced the performance, with an amazing atmosphere that could only be created by sitting on Queens square with a picnic. The raw acting style was brilliant and preformed as Shakespeare intended. Some may find the plot complicated but that is just the genius writing of Shakespeare. Raw, Funny and most importantly of all true to Shakespeare – you could have been in 1601. Absolutely amazing 10/10
